yep buttons are okay, but then make them dynamic. (blank graphic button where link content is added trough a given link variable, or something like this)
what isnt okay with the current code box graphic ?

i finally found some time to do this
http://www.terrorgruppe.org/gd/button.php
two variables must be filled (with GET or POST method)
button_text      ==> must contain a string
button_state ==> must contain the string "up" or "down"
example with GET method :
http://www.terrorgruppe.org/gd/button.php<REMOVE THIS>?button_text=Test%20Button&button_state=up
remove the "<REMOVE THIS>" can't post it like this because of site security.
Tell me if you like the button

The dynamic php/gd buttons look great. Very flexible solution too.
One remark about the login proccedure for this website:
Get rid of the stupid security code check.

Some things about the buttons: there is to much space after some Links ( li.e. : Home, Forums , Statistics) that looks not so nice i think,, mybe it looks better when the Button-Text is Centered or the button width are smaller ...
Thats my ideas about,, but if the current style is okay for all other TG`s we let the style like it is now .....:
about the Security code: I changed it so that the code is only displayed at New User Registration - there the Code is needed to prevent Spider bots or other bad people from creating Accounts automaticly..

text fetter (bold) --> difficult because you can not read the text very good anymore. Or the buttons "fetter" (bold) and letter size bigger. So then we have slightly bigger buttons.
text in middle --> more difficult to program, but main reason i dont think it looks good
buttons in middle --> was thinking of that too. but then you have black on each side of the buttons within the block. And also modules with a long name gonna be a problem.
so i'm gonna try a little bit higher buttons (with bigger and bold text) and make them less width and center them
